Kidz Town staff believe that children should have some control over the direction of their learning. We also believe and encourage parents to be involved in planning our curriculum. Your suggestions are very important to us and children’s success. We commit ourselves constantly enhance our understanding of children and continuously evolve our ideas and practices. It is our main objective to meet the needs of each individual child as well as the group. Therefore, our curriculum not only prepares the children in areas of academia, but in areas of physical and emotional development, creativity, and oral expression; through discovery, play, inquiry, and experimentation as is mandated by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years Document (2014).

Infant Program: (6 months -18 months)

 

  • A cozy, loving and safe environment to make baby feel very secure and calm.

  • Many sensory and educational toys for babies to play with

  • Story time and singing time.

  • A comfortable and cozy sleep area to allow for optimal sleep.

  • Based on each baby’s ability they will be encouraged to crawl, walk, eat on their own and much more in this program

  • Our goal is to consistently give them so much love and comfort, in a nurturing and safe environment. Our teachers will connect with your infants with the new rules in place with an abundance of love and care.

Toddler Program: (18 months - 30 months)

  • Transitioning from the infant to toddler room can be hard for some children. At our daycare, the teachers will show them the love and affection required for them to excel.

  • Children will have circle time and be introduced to new and exciting things to pique their curiosity.

  • The children will also start to be introduced to language, numeration, science, music, and art.

  • Sport and co-ordination proficiency will be a large part of this program to enable students to work on their gross motor skills.

  • Children will be encouraged to learn to do everyday tasks more independently.

  • Children will be encouraged to take part in a lot of sensory play, reading time, circle time, singing and outdoor play including our very own garden which they will learn to grow and enjoy their own vegetables.

Preschool Program: (30 months - 6 years)

 

  • This program is designed to encourage children to become more active learners. 

  • Our educators will encourage the children to express their likes giving them the ability to guide their curriculum based on their own unique interests.

  • Children will also start to learn how to recognize letters and be introduced to learning how to sound them out phonetically.

  • Children are also taught to express their feelings through words to help them evolve their social development skills.

  • Daily activity is very important for children of this age group, on top of daily outdoor play, children are also taken on monthly field trips to allow more learning and curiosity.

  • Through documentation of all the children’s daily work, parents will be able to see their child’s progress.

  • In this class children are also encouraged to be more independent and try to complete daily tasks on their own.

  • STEAM program which is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, and persist in problem-solving.

Preschool Program-Older Age Groups: (44 months - 6 years)

 

  • This program will promote learning while helping children meet the various language,
    social, physical, and cognitive skills.

  • Our teaching method will be based off the most up to date methods in childhood education.

  • Our curriculum will include children encouraged to do both individual and group projects.

  • Each child will have their own workbook where they will be encouraged to complete
    different topics throughout this program.

  • JK/SK split students will also take part in a field trips to expand their learning beyond the classroom.

  • Parents will receive update on their child’s progress throughout this program.
